Analysis of N2O, CO2 and Hydrocarbons in Pure O2

Pure oxygen is commonly produced in cryogenic air separation plants. Typically oxygen purities range from 97.5 % to 99.5 %. In order to determine the impurities contained in the final product process gas chromatography is routinely employed. However, this technology requires multiple instruments for the different groups of impurities and an analysis usually takes several minutes. For a faster analysis online instrumentation is needed.

Solution

Ion Molecule Reaction Mass Spectrometers (IMR-MS) by V&F allow for a highly sensitive real-time analysis of impurities in pure oxygen. Inorganic as well as organic compounds can be measured. Especially N2O and CO2 can be determined at sub ppm levels. V&F mass spectrometers can be equipped with a variety of interfaces to ensure proper embedding into the process control environment. In addition, printing of certificates is optionally available.
